Hill intervals

Ran up the hill toward the top of Mt Sutro 4 times, walked back down. The first 3 were ~53 seconds each, with ~2:15 - 2:30 rest. The last one was ~55 seconds. Not bad - I think last time I did this workout, they were 58+ seconds.

Track workout

1600 meters
- 1:52, 1:55, 1:53, 1:51
- rest 5 min

800 meters
- 1:38, 1:44
- rest 3 min

400 meters
- 1:24
- rest 1 min

200 meters
- 0:43

Calf hurt a little bit during the first two laps and during the last 200m. It's definitely sore now, so hopefully lots of icing will help it heal up soon.

400m's, sumos, thursters

This is a very tough workout. I modified it to:

Four rounds for time of:
Run 400 meters
30 pound Sumo deadlift high-pull, 21 reps
30 pound Thruster, 21 reps

Time: 25:10

I had to use dumbbells instead of a barbell. I didn't know how many rounds I'd get through. I'm glad I got more than 3, but a 5th sprint would have been too much. My legs are going to need a long recovery after this!

Next time, though, next time I'll do a full 5 rounds.

Interval running

Tough run today. :-(

About 36 minutes total, which included 5 sprinting intervals - I was SLOW. Ugh. Definitely tight from yesterday's deadlifts.

Interval running

24-minute run, which included five 1-minute sprints. Neither one of has has done intervals for about a month, so we were happy to do this abbreviated version, rather than the full 4.5 mile loop.

Arboretum run (with intervals)

Had a really good run today! Scott did the loop, with intervals, yesterday, and finished in about 35 minutes. That motivated me to push myself today. I did seven and a half minute-long intervals, and finished in under 39 minutes. I still had to walk for about 30 seconds after each sprint and felt like my chest was *very* tight, but overall I ran faster during the sprints and during the jogs than in previous weeks. Hooray!

Interval running, push-ups

We ran about half of our normal arboretum run today - a little over 2 miles, a little over 23 minutes, 4 intervals (1-minute sprint, 3.5-minute job). Maybe next time I'll experiment with varying amounts of rest times.

Did 50 push-ups (10 sets of 5) when I got home.

Then I showered and went to play dominoes at a friends' house!
